Stop, drop and roll...

I just found out about the death of a friend's older brother.
Apparently he had a medical appointment today and the doctor prescribed him some pills.
The guy had a background of testicular cancer, but he was healthy... he won the battle and then something in these pills gave him a stroke.

What can you say to the family? How can you be supportive when you keep thinking "Dear God, what if it had happened to my brother?"
I'm so infinitely sorry for my friend and even more so because there's nothing I can say to make her feel better, I can't even be with her right now. I just hope that someone can say the right thing at the right time instead of being silent, like me.

I don't like Shakira, at all. Her fake argentinian accent pisses me off and her voice generally gets in my nerves.

But this... this is redemption.

It's been a long time since I 've heard a beautiful song, let alone two by the same artist. I believe she just killed me dead with these two.

Today, I took the admission exam to med-school.





Now, tomorrow is my birthday. 20. Damn!

It's driving me bonkers.

Let me tell you a story.

Back in 2004, there was nothing I wanted more than go back to my hometown and enter med school. I applied but my score in the admission test wasn't enough for me to get a place at the university I wanted. So I basically gave up on that dream, the pathological depression didn't help me much.
I tried a second time, but just before the day of the exam, I lost my citation, so I couldn't go take the test, which was a nightmare.
My mom was about to chop my head off, when we remembered another university. It doesn't have medicine, but it has physical therapy, I liked de idea of staying in the health sciences so, the day I was supposed to take the second text, I applied at this other university. I passed. I am now in my fifth semester, half way through, and the old dream of being a doc is back.

I just reapplied to my first option, saved the citation and the day before my birthday I will be taking the last text. If I pass, I'll be more that extremely happy, If I don't, I'm afraid I'll go back to feeling sorry for myself.

But I had to take the chance. I don't want to look back and regret.

Yay!! The movie is almost here!!

Not so yay for the book. Though it is very awesome that we're this close to know (KNOW!!!) I still don't think I'm ready for it. I mean, I can't accept Sirius death yet, my mourning for Dumbledore hasn't even started, so how can I be ready for the end?
